NEW LOCKDOWN SCHEDULE

 

Bristol’s first Community radio Station launches emergency schedule in light of Covid 19 lockdown

 

Bcfm Radio has acted swiftly following new emergency restrictions for members of the public during the Coronavirus pandemic.

 

The schedule which included over 70 different shows involving volunteers from across the city had become impossible to operate due to the new social distancing guidelines that would have put both volunteers, members of the public and the NHS at risk.

 

MAIN BCFM STUDIO DEVASTATED BY FIRE

We are devastated to announce our studio and most of our broadcast equipment at Easton Community Centre has been destroyed. The fire broke out during a live broadcast of our Silversound Show at approx 11am this morning - thankfully neither our presenter Tony nor anyone else in the building was injured.

BRISTOL HERO’S TO BE HONOURED AT DIVERSITY AWARDS

Organisers of the 2nd Annual Bristol Diversity Awards have announced three special awards that will be given at the main event on Royal Wedding day Saturday 19th May.

Alongside over 75 nominees who will be competing for 25 Diversity awards across various categories, St Pauls Carnival founder Roy Hackett, Bristol Musician, broadcaster & youth mentor Kaya Kilaze Bowen and Social worker & campaigner Liz Wilson who died last year will all receive recognition.

 

SLAVE TRADER NAME REMOVED FROM HALL

The name of slave trader Edward Colston will be removed from the concert hall run by the Bristol Music Trust when it re-opens in 2020

Years of campaigning have finally made a difference following a unanimous vote of the Bristol Music Trust just before Easter to rename the Colston Hall .
