BCfm in the news again!

A nice insight into Bristol's first community radio Station from Bristol 247

Elected Mayor Apologises to One Love Breakfast

Bristol's Elected Mayor George Ferguson made an apology via twitter this morning thanks to our very own One Love Breakfast Show after being involved in a controversial exchange on the social media site following his comparison of cyclists being victimised to racism in the American deep South in the 1960's.

One Love Breakfast host Pat Hart and co - presenter Harriet Robinson, Colin Moody & Primrose Granville discussed the topic at length with a high volume of listeners interaction via Facebook & twitter.

They came from far and wide to celebrate what has become an unprecedented national news story.

Bristol's BCfm 93.2 got a Radio Academy Award for the Best Small Station in the South West for the 2nd time in 5 years and hundreds of BCfm volunteers attended the Christmas Party at Trinity to celebrate. Up Our Street's Stacey Yelland Presented the Radio Academy Award to Volunteers David Goodhind, George Moss and Muhliim Barre. All three volunteers gave testimonies of how much they love the station and `the massive impact BCfm has had on their lives.

BCfm 93.2 have scooped another major award today and are officially the Best small Station in the South West as voted by the Radio Academy in the Nations & Regions Awards 2014. The aim of the awards is to celebrate programming that caters for the needs of a local audience, recognising the passion, commitment and outstanding content of UK local radio.

Green Debate & George Ferguson all in a week !

We really are leading the way in community broadcasting as we staged the Big Green Debate at our BCfm studio's and simulcast with Ujima radio. BCfm's Pat Hart hosted the Big Green debate that included Gus Hoyt and Andrew Garrard from Green Bristol 2015. An engaging conversation the has opened up the debate about social inclusion and relevance within our communities.
