TRIBUTES POUR IN FOR CHRISTINA

Tributes have been flooding in following the death of Bcfm Radio's Christina Robino on Sunday 18th October 2020.

Bristol Community FM’s CEO Pat Hart made the announcement on social media yesterday after learning of Christina’s passing part way through his Shades Of Soul Show on the station.
“ Some things are just more important and I was devastated to hear the news after getting a text from my colleague Neil Maggs so I spoke with my co - host Mikie Rods and we decided to stop the show and just leave on a mix for the duration”

WE'VE LAUNCHED A NEW ORAL HISTORY PODCAST

Bristol is more than Brunel, balloons and toppling statues of Edward Colston

BCfm last week announced that we are launching ‘12 Communities 1 Bristol’ - a new local oral history podcast from Marcus Smith, in partnership with Bristol 24/7, Bristol Museums, Bristol Archives, UWE Bristol and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Each of the 12 episodes will focus on a particular Bristol neighbourhood – Barton Hill, Knowle West, Lawrence Weston, Easton, Fishponds, Hartcliffe, St George, Hillfields, Southmead, Eastville, Stockwood and Avonmouth.

NEW LOCKDOWN SCHEDULE

Bristol’s first Community radio Station launches emergency schedule in light of Covid 19 lockdown

Bcfm Radio has acted swiftly following new emergency restrictions for members of the public during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The schedule which included over 70 different shows involving volunteers from across the city had become impossible to operate due to the new social distancing guidelines that would have put both volunteers, members of the public and the NHS at risk.
