NEW LOCKDOWN SCHEDULE

Bristol’s first Community radio Station launches emergency schedule in light of Covid 19 lockdown

Bcfm Radio has acted swiftly following new emergency restrictions for members of the public during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The schedule which included over 70 different shows involving volunteers from across the city had become impossible to operate due to the new social distancing guidelines that would have put both volunteers, members of the public and the NHS at risk.

MAIN BCFM STUDIO DEVASTATED BY FIRE

We are devastated to announce our studio and most of our broadcast equipment at Easton Community Centre has been destroyed. The fire broke out during a live broadcast of our Silversound Show at approx 11am this morning - thankfully neither our presenter Tony nor anyone else in the building was injured.

St Paul's Carnival Broadcast with BBC & Ujima

Once again Bcfm Radio, Ujima radio & BBC Radio Bristol broadcasted together for a three hour "tri-cast" across the regions from midday from various vantage points across the event. Pete Simpson, DJ Style & BCfm radio's Pat Hart mingled with the crowds and joined the procession whilst Sandra Green & Harriet Robinson were stationed by the Windrush Ujima Radio stage. James Hanson was once again on the Circomedia roof looking down at proceedings and sending updated route and traffic information into the broadcast.
