More training for BCfm radio Volunteers

We might be Bristol's leading community radio station with no less than 2 Sony Gold Radio Academy awards and a string of other local & national accolades but we can't rest so we continue to strive for the best.

Bcfm are renowned for our high quality broadcats which has led to our content being aired nationally & internationally, we couldn't do this if we didn't invest in our volunteers and find new and innovative ways to upskill and train the team.  On 20th August the latest of our training days took place with breakfast and lunch being supplied to everyone whilst BBC's Emma Britton taslked to one group, station CEO Pat Hart ran a session on phone technology and Asstistant Station boss Harriet Robinson ran a session on reading & writing news. A new programme of peer to peer training has also been introduced meaning those with skills are passing them on to the new recruits.  One volunteer said "That's why I love being here at BCfm radio, I'm looked after, valued and even fed when I'm being trained, roll on the next event"  Station boss and newly appointed CEO of the charity Patrick Hart said "It's important that in this current climate we don't always use the lack of money or funding as an excuse not to move forward and strive to do the best for our communities, we already serve the highest number of diverse communities than any other radio station in the country and we are relied upon to supply news, current affairs, community information, access and leadership to vast groups of our city. Being at the top of our game is the only way we can continue to do it"
