Brazil To Bristol - Pledge Now!

Things are moving really quickly with our Brazil To Bristol fundraising campaign. Not only do we have an amzing gig on 31st March at the lantern (Colston Hall) but we've also launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the effort to bring some amazing young people from a favela in Brazil to bristol in order that they can gain lifechanging experience of the UK from a musical, cultural and language perspective.

St Peters Hospice's support of Black History Month Massive Success

Bcfm's unprecedented & extensive coverage of this years Black Hisoty Month 2015 has been hailed as a massive success thanks to support & sponsorship from St Peters Hospice.

Thanks to  financial support from St Peters Hospice, BCfm were able to prooduce programming and daily what's on During the entire month of October.

Graduate Deasay Johnson supported by Sherrie Eugene Hart ensured that the station had daily news and what's on information alongside some fascinating documentary pieces aired during both breakfast and drivetime throughout the month. 

BCfm Radio supports Afrika Eye & RYMA Awards

Bristol's first community radio station serving all communities of Bristol are proud to be supporting the 10th Afrika Eye Film Festival & the Regional Youth Music Awards.

Paul Stephenson Honoured Again

Two men who had a significant impact on the profile of black people in Bristol, the UK and beyond were honoured in a special ceremony to mark Black History Month.

Paul Stephenson, who led a boycott in 1963 of the Bristol Omnibus company, and George Odlum, who was the first black president of a Students' Union anywhere in the UK, both had rooms named after them in the University of Bristol's Students' Union (Bristol SU) building.

Tim Lloyd Yeates

It is with great sadness that BCfm report the passing of our friend and BCfm family member Tim Lloyd Yeates.  

Tim was an integral part of our Silversound programme on BCfm and also appeared regularly on other shows including The One Love breakfast show where he would report on his inspiring work with care provision for our elders via his charity Alive where he was the founding director.
